This warning is written on every box of cotton swabs. And yet, we still ignore this serious precaution and continue to use q-tips for this exact purpose.
Even the American Academy of Otolaryngology has officially stated that you should not use regular cotton swabs for cleaning your ears.
You might get some earwax out but that’s not enough. They just push earwax deeper in your ear canal and closer to your eardrum.
